Terms and conditions of entry:

1.         The Eastbourne Open exhibition is open to all artists and sculptors, amateur and professional, resident or working in East or West Sussex.

2.         Up to five pieces of work in any medium may be entered per artist.

Three dimensional sculpture and ceramic creations must be free standing or wall mounted.  Each work must be of a size and weight to be carried by one person.  Works that require an electrical power supply cannot be accepted.  All work must be original and recent (last 2 years).  Screen prints must be hand produced and part of a limited edition.  Printed copies of works in another medium are not acceptable.

3.         The entry fee is £5.00 per work.  The fee must accompany the entry form.  Entry forms must be returned to Rosemary Drysdale, Gay Dolphins, Bay Avenue, Pevensey Bay, BN24 6LY, by  Friday 14th November 2008.  Payment should be made by cheque, payable to The Chaseley Trust.

4.         The price of each work should include a 10% commission to be retained by The Chaseley Trust.  Any artist stewarding at the show will not have to pay this commission.

5.         All work must be clearly labelled on the back, showing the artist’s name and address, title of work, medium and price.

6.         All work may be affixed using Velcro tape (this should be securely stuck onto the back of the frame, preferably stapled, this method of hanging is extremely successful and will hold most glass fronted work in addition to non-framed canvases).  If in doubt, heavier glass fronted work must be supplied with appropriate fixings and hanging cord/wire.

7.         Any work not appropriately presented, presented in sub-standard frames or unframed canvasses with visible staple or pin fixings will not be displayed.

8.         All entry fees go towards the administration of the exhibition and will not be refunded if your work is not selected for exhibition.

9.         Whilst the organisers and The Chaseley Trust will endeavour to take all due care of the works submitted, all works are submitted entirely at the artist’s risk and should be appropriately insured.  Neither the organisers nor The Chaseley Trust can accept any liability for loss or damage.  Delivery of sold works to buyers will be the responsibility of the artists, if not collected immediately after the exhibition.  Sold or unsold works cannot be removed until the exhibition closes, unless a special agreement is reached with the organiser.

10.       All unsold work must be collected and signed for between 4.00pm and 5.00pm on 30th November.  Any uncollected work may be liable for a small storage fee therefore please contact the organisers with any queries over this time/date.
